SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The University of Texas football team is one day away from its Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl matchup with California.

"It's been a great week in San Diego," said head coach Mack Brown. "What a great place. The weather has been outstanding. The Red Coats do as good a job as anyone in the country. They allow the kids and staff free time to do stuff, but also give them enough to enjoy their week whether it's at Sea World, the zoo, or going out to the ship yesterday."

The final day before the season finale started with the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Bowl Breakfast at the Town & Country Hotel. Following the breakfast head coach Mack Brown joined California head coach Jeff Tedford for a press conference to talk about the upcoming game.

The two coaches joined their respective teams at the San Diego Convention Center for the U.S. Bank Kickoff Luncheon that began with the San Diego Office Interiors Battle of the Bands. The luncheon included season highlight videos and messages to fans from both coaches. Texas captains Blake Gideon and Fozzy Whittaker also answered questions in front of the teams and fans.

From the luncheon the Longhorns went to Snapdragon Stadium at Qualcomm for the first time. The stadium is the home of the San Diego Chargers and is the location for Wednesday's game which kicks off at 7 p.m. Central. The Texas players and coaches got their first look at the locker room and had a chance to walk on the field and look around.

Freshman cornerback Quandre Diggs received a special treat as his locker is the same one used by his brother Quentin Jammer, a former All-American at Texas and current cornerback for the Chargers.

The team was also given a treat in the evening as they all went to the movies at a local theater, the final event before game day.
