Speedy, quick and explosive second-year running back and return man who played in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2002 … climbed all the way up the depth chart to become Cedric Benson’s top backup at tailback during the preseason and rushed for 408 yards and five TDs on the year … replaced an injured Nathan Vasher as UT’s punt returner at Tulane and took his third career return 71 yards for a score (longest punt return ever by a UT freshman and fifth on UT’s all-time punt return list) … tabbed the co-Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in that game … led the team with 12 kickoff returns for 285 yards (23.8 avg.) as a true freshman.

Played in all 13 games as RB Cedric Benson’s top backup and served as one of UT’s kickoff returners … also saw action at punt returner … shared UT’s Outstanding Newcomer Award … second on the team with 85 carries for 408 yards (4.8 avg.) and five rushing TDs … also returned 12 kickoffs for 285 yards (23.8 avg.) and five punts for 87 yards (17.4 avg.), including a freshman-record 71-yard TD at Tulane (No. 5 in UT history) … third on the squad with 780 all-purpose yards … his six total TDs rank in a sixth-place tie on UT’s freshman list … shared Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his performance at Tulane (three returns, 85 yards, 71-yard TD) … also toted the ball 12 times for 66 yards and a pair of scores and tied UT’s freshman single-season record with 18 points … set single-game career highs for attempts (14) and rushing yards (98) against Baylor, including a 13-yard TD … rushed for a team-high 49 yards on 11 carries and returned three kickoffs for 63 yards in the Cotton Bowl against LSU … had a career-high-tying 14 carries for 38 yards in the regular season finale against Texas A&M … registered 34 yards on three rushes, including a career-long 32-yarder at Texas Tech … added a 24-yard kickoff return against the Red Raiders … returned three kickoffs for 90 yards, including a career-long 55-yarder, against No. 2 Oklahoma … ran for 57 yards on seven carries, including a 30-yard TD, and returned a kickoff 38 yards at North Carolina … posted 34 yards on nine attempts against No. 17 Iowa State.

Coached by David Snokhous at Jersey Village High … a three-year starter at running back … also returned kicks and saw limited action at cornerback against passing teams … a third-team 5A all-state and first-team All-Greater Houston and all-district selection as a senior … named the team’s Most Valuable Player after rushing for 1,417 yards and 17 TDs … earned first-team All-Greater Houston and second-team all-district honors as a junior … rushed for 960 yards (on 203 carries) and 12 TDs in only seven games … missed three games due to injury … a first-team All-Greater Houston and all-district choice as a sophomore … ran for 2,204 yards (on 308 carries) and 24 TDs in his first season as a starter that year … second in the Houston area in rushing yards in 1999 … rushed for 270 yards and scored three TDs in his first varsity game … also played basketball and ran track for two years.
