PK Phil Dawson booted a career-high-tying four field goals and scored 15 points in Cleveland's last-second, 40-39 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Dawson, whose final FG put Cleveland up 39-37 with 13 seconds left, connected from 34, 32, 25 and 20 yards and hit three extra points.

OT Blake Brockermeyer and OG Dan Neil helped the Broncos gain 291 total yards (104 rush/187 pass) in their 23-16 victory over the St. Louis Rams.

DB Chris Carter had a tackle and forced a fumble on special teams in Houston's 19-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Texans became only the second expansion franchise to win their initial game (1961 Minnesota Vikings are the other).

RB Priest Holmes ran for 122 yards and matched a club record with four rushing touchdowns in the Chiefs' dramatic 40-39 come-from-behind win. He added a team-high six receptions for 19 yards. DB Taje Allen also saw action but registered no statistics.

RB Ricky Williams made a huge splash in his Dolphins debut, rushing for 111 yards on 20 carries, including a pair of short scoring runs, in Miami's 49-21 win over the Detroit Lions.
