What do you guys
do the day before a game and what has the experience meant to you?
"We go the hotel and we have a good time. It's just a great
time and something I'll never forget when I'm old. We have a pasta
bar, and I hang out with my boys on the bus. We go to a movie and
it's nice being just one of the guys. Then we step off the bus and
it turns to business. We go to meetings and start to break down
film. Then we have a little snack before we go to bed and talk amongst
ourselves for a minute and that's about it until the morning. When
we wake up, it's just meetings and all business and getting ready
to go."
What are some of
the things you like to do off the field?
"I like to do a variety of different things. I like
to hang out with the guys on the team and go fishing here and there.
This weekend I plan to go hog hunting with my old man and just spend
some quality time with him."
Where do you guys
go hog hunting?
"My dad has a little lease up here in Burnett, which
is about an hour north of here. I would like to get out there more
often if I had the time, but I enjoy it when I get to go."
What is something
most people don't know about you if they just look at you as a football
player?
"I guess my sensitive side. People see me out here spitting
and cussing and throwing people around. That's just the way I play
the game, which is hardcore. People get that feeling from me because
they see me just on the field. Even talking with my girlfriend,
people say to her, 'You're Brock Edwards girlfriend? Isn't he mean?,'
and she just laughs at it. People just get a persona, and they think
I am like that off the field, it's a completely different thing
and it's like a light switch when I get off the field."
What is in your
CD player right now?
"I have Jimmy Buffett's new album in right now. It's
a two-disc set. It has some of his old hits and some of his new
hits on hit."
Jimmy Buffett is
a big concert draw every time he is on tour. Have you ever had the
chance to see him live?
"I have never seen him. I wish I could afford a ticket."
If you weren't
playing football at UT, what sport would you want to play?
"I would play baseball. I was even thinking about playing
in college and I checked out a few places, but I decided I just
wanted to do the one-sport thing. Two sports was not the ideal thing
for me. I played baseball up until my senior in high school and
that was it."
