Minute Drill: Bo Scaife
» Two-Minute Drill archives
Senior tight end Bo Scaife
is an exciting and versatile receiver with great
hands. The Denver native has played in 33 career
games, including starting the 2004 season opener
versus North Texas with fellow tight end David
Thomas. Scaife pulled in two passes for 16 yards
in that game, giving him 51 receptions for 665
yards for his career. He recently ran the Two-Minute
Drill with MackBrown-TexasFootball.com.
On the match-up with Arkansas:
We're always
up for the challenge, but this one is kind of
special because they came here and defeated us
last year. We're really excited about it. It's
going to be a big, hostile crowd. But I think
our team sees that every week and we thrive on
that. It's going to be a challenge, but we are
going to try and embrace it and leave there with
the victory.
On coming off a 65-0 victory:
We did a lot of
good things, but you have to put things into
perspective. That was just one game, but we have
to be able to come back and do it week after
week. We are just going to try and take what
we did last week and build on it. We didn't play
the perfect game and that is what we are going
to strive to do each week.
On Vince Young:
I think he is realizing that
he is the key to the offense. It sometimes takes
the quarterback a little more time because they
need to know everything that is going on with
the offense. He's been putting in the time and
the extra work, which has allowed him to become
a better quarterback. He worked on his footwork
over the summer, which has helped him become
better as a passer and we know what he can do
while running.
On Arkansas quarterback Matt Jones:
We've got
a lot of respect for their quarterback, Matt
Jones. But, I think Vince is going to do what
he does every Saturday and that's put on a show
for everybody.
On his role on the team:
I'm just trying to
keep everyone together. I think it is important
to give the guys a little of what I've gained
from my previous seasons. I'm bringing a blue-collar
mentality to the team and everyone seems to be
feeding off of it. Every one has gotten to work,
and I just want to keep reminding them that we
need to continue to work. |
