Two
Minute Drill: Michael Huff
» Two-Minute
Drill archives
Junior Michael Huff has been a stalwart in
the Longhorn secondary for the past two seasons and he has again
established himself as one of the best safeties in the Big 12
this season. He leads the team with six pass break ups and is
fourth in tackles with 19. The junior from Irving, Texas, took
a break from Baylor preparations to run the Two-Minute Drill
with MackBrown-TexasFootball.com.
On success against Rice:
I thought we got off to a rough start, but we made some adjustments
and took care of business from there. We worked on the wishbone
during practice, but there was no way to simulate the way they
ran the ball. Once we got a good look at it, we were fine.
On the playing the pass against Baylor:
I think me, the other DBs and the linebackers will be ready for
this weekend. It should be a good test for us.
On a game week in the middle of the season:
Tuesdays are always the "hard" day where we work on
tackling and fundamentals. Wednesdays and Thursdays, we focus
more on the mental side and really start getting prepared for
our opponent.
On taking it one game at a time:
That is just the attitude we have right now going into every
game. We have a great defense and team as a whole, so we just
need to make sure we focus on running the ball well and stopping
the run every game and we'll be fine.
On improving:
There is always room for improvement. We've been doing a great
job so far, but we can get better. For instance, we should
be causing more turnovers. |
