Two Minute DrillTwo-Minute Drill: Aaron Ross

» Two-Minute Drill archives

With the upcoming game versus Texas Tech, sophomore cornerback Aaron Ross is going to be counted on to play a lot of snaps. He's already made 25 tackles in part-time duty and his interception towards the end of the first half against Missouri helped swing the momentum back in the Longhorns' favor. MackBrown-TexasFootball.com was able to catch up with Ross and had him run the Two-Minute Drill.

On the interception versus Missouri:
We were in a tight spot and somebody needed to make a play. We had seen that play in practice and film all week, so when I saw it I just jumped the route. I had Eric Hall out in front, but I should have cut back sooner.

On Texas Tech's offense:
It's wide open. It's not something you see in every game, so the DBs are going to have to be ready. We need to get into the film room and make sure we know what kind of routes they like to run.

On the secondary's mentality going into Texas Tech:
We are confident. We need to be mentally sound and make sure we play our assignments. If we do that, we should be all right.

On transitioning into Coach Robinson's defense:
I really like the zone. I played a lot of man in high school. It is kind of new for me to play zone, but I'm really getting comfortable.

On returning punts:
I've been a punt returner all my life so it hasn't been a hard transition. I would watch Nathan (Vasher) and Selvin (Young), so I'm just trying to pick up where they left off.
