Two-Minute
Drill: Tim Crowder
» Two-Minute
Drill archives
Sophomore defensive end Tim Crowder has spent
almost as much time in the opponent's backfield as he has on his
side of the line of scrimmage this season. He leads the team with
16 quarterback pressures, and of his 27 tackles, five have been for
loss. The Tyler, Texas native believes he is getting more and more
comfortable with each game and MackBrown-TexasFootball.com sat down
with him to discuss his progress and the rest of the season in the
Two-Minute Drill.
On pressuring the quarterback:
I've just been using the speed rush. We've got the other teams in
down and distance situations, so we've had the opportunity to just
pin our ears back and rush.
On putting teams in second- and third-down-and-long situations:
If we can drop them for a loss on first down, we know they are going
to pass. So, it turns into a really big advantage for us.
On Oklahoma State's running game:
I think they are going to look at it as a challenge and they will
try and run the ball down our throats. We'll just have to do whatever
we can to stop them. I know Morency is a quick back who is really
strong. He's explosive and powerful.
On getting credit for doing well in conference:
I think we have done a great job in the conference since I've been
here. It is just that people focus on Oklahoma. They are our biggest
rivals so some people take it to the extreme, but I can see why
they do. It doesn't really affect me. We are just trying to go
out there and win the rest of the games.
On how the defense can improve:
Every team has room for improvement. We are just going to do what
we have been doing like working on tackling, fundamentals and taking
good angles. |
