THE
PRACTICE REPORT: No. 11 Texas (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) wrapped up its preparations
for Saturday's contest against the Oklahoma State Cowboys (2-3, 0-2
Big 12) with a one-hour practice on Thursday afternoon at Darrell K
Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Longhorns spent the first 20 minutes
of the session working on all aspects of the kicking game and then followed
with 30 minutes of work against the scout teams. UT concluded the workout
with 10 minutes of work in the one-minute drill.
GAME
CAPTAINS: Seniors Ahmad Brooks (defense), D.D. Lewis (defense) and
Mike Williams (offense) and junior Michael Ungar (special teams) will
serve as the Longhorns team captains on Saturday head coach Mack Brown
announced after Thursday's workout.
INJURY
REPORT: Following practice, head coach Mack Brown said that junior
RB Victor Ike (bruised ribs) and sophomore DE Kalen Thornton (knee)
would not be accompanying the team to Stillwater due to their respective
injuries.
LINEUP
CHANGES: Brown also said that senior Maurice Gordon would move from
DT and start at end in place of Thornton this weekend, while sophomore
Adam Doiron would make his first career start at DT on Saturday.
LOOKING
AHEAD: The Longhorns, making their first road trip out of the state
of Texas this season, will depart for Stillwater on Friday morning.
Saturday's contest against Oklahoma State is scheduled to kick off at
11:30 a.m. and the game will be televised as the Big 12 Conference's
Syndicated Game of the Week. Drew Goodman (play-by-play), Dave Lapham
(color) and Jim Knox (sidelines) will call the action from Lewis Field.
