THE PRACTICE REPORT: The No. 5 Texas Longhorns (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) continued their preparations for Saturday's contest at Baylor (2-5, 0-5 Big 12) with a 90-minute practice on Wednesday afternoon at Frank Denius Fields. The Longhorns opened the workout with 15 minutes of special teams work, followed by individual and team drills. The Horns also continued to implement the offensive and defensive game plans against the scout teams during the latter half of practice.

CAVIL SPEAKS TO TEAM AFTER PRACTICE: Former UT wide receiver Kwame Cavil, a 1999 second-team All-American, spoke to the team following Wednesday's workout. The Waco native, who spent last season as a member of the Buffalo Bills, caught a school-record 100 passes for a UT single season-record 1,188 yards as a junior in 1999. Cavil finished his Longhorns career as the second-leading receiver in school history (174 receptions for 2,279 yards).

LOOKING AHEAD: The Longhorns will wrap up their gameweek preparations on Thursday afternoon inside Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. UT's 91st meeting with Baylor is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Floyd Casey Stadium. The game will be televised as the Big 12 Syndicated Game of the Week and Drew Goodman (play-by-play), Dave Lapham (color) and Jim Knox (sidelines) will call the action.
