THE PRACTICE REPORT: No. 5 Texas (8-1, 5-1 Big 12) completed its preparations for this weekend's game against Kansas (2-6, 1-5 Big 12) with a one-hour practice on Thursday afternoon inside Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Longhorns spent the first 20 minutes of the session working on all aspects of the kicking game and then followed with 30 minutes of work against the scout teams. UT concluded the workout with 10 minutes of work in the one-minute drill.

SATURDAY'S GAME CAPTAINS:
Following practice, head coach Mack Brown announced that the entire 23-member senior class will serve as game captains on Saturday. WR Montrell Flowers and DB Bradford Hermes will join honorary captain Red McCombs for the coin toss at midfield.

HALL OF HONOR CEREMONY: A class of eight University of Texas men and four women will be recognized for their induction to the Longhorn Hall of Honor during a pregame ceremony prior to Saturday's game. This year's men's honorees are Bill Atessis (football), Britt Hager (football), Terry Tausch (football), Ike Sewell (football), Dennis Cook (baseball), Ron Baxter (basketball), Col. John Payne (golf) and Charles Craven (administration). The women's inductees are Nell Fortner (basketball/volleyball), Joan Pennington Dyer (swimming), Retha Swindell (basketball) and Pat Weis (golf).

LOOKING AHEAD:
Saturday's game against Kansas is scheduled to kick off at 11:30 a.m. and it will not be televised. The contest can be heard across the 37-station Longhorn Sports Network. Bill Shoening (play-by-play), Craig Way (color) and former UT linebacker Brian Jones (sidelines) will call the action. The game also can be heard in Spanish across the five-station Sendero Sports Network.
