Houston game rescheduled, to be available on pay-per-view

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Longhorns' game against Houston (Saturday, Sept. 21) has been rescheduled for 7 p.m., UT officials announced on Monday. The game, originally slated for a 6 p.m. kickoff at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, will be televised on pay-per-view basis on cable systems throughout the state of Texas and nationally on DirecTV and Dish Network satellite systems.

Cable system and satellite customers might have to wait until later this week to order, but consult local advertising for more information. Digital cable service is required for pay-per-view access by most cable systems in Texas. Suggested retail price is $29.95.

The following cable systems in Texas have agreed to offer the telecast: Abilene (Cox Communications), Amarillo (Cox Communications), Austin (Time Warner/Grande Communications), Avery (Clearworks Communications), Corpus Christi (Grande Communications), Dallas (AT&T Broadband), Georgetown (Cox Communications), Houston (Time Warner), League City (Clearworks Communications), Lubbock (Cox Communications), Midland (Cox Communications/Grande Communications), North Pointe (Clearworks Communications), Odessa (Grande Communications), Plainview (Cox Communications), Port Lavaca (Cable One), San Antonio (Time Warner/Grande Communications), San Marcos (Grande Communications), Tyler (Cox Communications) and Waco (Grande Communications).

Bill Land (play-by-play), former two-time Super Bowl Champion New York Giants linebacker Gary Reasons (color) and Jim Knox (sidelines) will call the action.

The game will be replayed throughout the FOX Sports Net’s Southwest region (Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and parts of New Mexico) at 2 a.m. (CT) and on Monday, Sept. 23.

UT enters the contest having won 14 consecutive games at home (T-No. 4 in UT history), the Longhorns' longest home winning streak since a school-record 42-gamer from 1968-76 (No. 6 in NCAA history). It also is the fifth-longest active streak in the country. During the Mack Brown era, Texas has posted a 22-2 (.917) record at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
