ORLANDO, Fla. -- University of Texas senior offensive lineman Derrick Dockery (Garland, Texas) and senior defensive end Cory Redding (Houston, Texas) both were selected as Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF) All-Americans, the organization announced Thursday during ESPN's Home Depot College Football Awards Show.

Dockery, who was named a Football Writers Association of America All-American a week ago, has seen action at both right guard and tackle and been a force on the Longhorns offensive line this season. He is a key member of a UT offense that ranks fifth in the Big 12 and 17th nationally in scoring offense (33.7 ppg.). Dockery, who has not allowed a sack this year, has helped QB Chris Simms to throw for 2,938 yards (No. 2 on UT's single-season list) and a UT-record 24 touchdowns. He also has helped open holes for the Longhorns' eighth consecutive 1,000-yard rusher in sophomore Cedric Benson (1,247 yards/No. 7 on UT's single-season chart).

Redding, who was one of four finalists for the Lombardi and Hendricks awards, is the leader of a UT defense that leads the Big 12 and ranks 10th in the NCAA in pass defense (162.8 ypg.), second in the league and eighth in the country in scoring defense (16.0 ppg.), second in the Big 12 and 12th nationally in total defense (296.6 ypg.) and third in the conference and 10th in the nation in pass efficiency defense (98.3 rtg.). The 2001 second-team All-American (The Associated Press) ranks fourth on the team with 66 tackles and leads the squad with 20 TFLs (T-No. 6 on UT's single-season list), 7.5 sacks, 36 QB pressures (T-No. 8 on UT's single-season chart), three forced fumbles and a pair fumble recoveries. He also has posted a sack in the last seven contests.

It marks the third consecutive year that the Longhorns placed two players on the prestigious All-America team and the 10th time in school history. Last year, cornerback Quentin Jammer and offensive tackle Mike Williams earned the honor, while offensive tackle Leonard Davis and defensive tackle Casey Hampton were named to the 2000 WCFF team. Thirty-five Longhorns have earned a total of 39 All-America honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation in school history.

The team is the widely recognized as the nation's most prestigious and respected All-America squads. The foundation began honoring college football players in 1889 and the All-Americans are selected by the country's head coaches and sports information directors.

The ninth-ranked Longhorns (10-2, 6-2 Big 12) return to the practice field next week in preparation for their matchup with LSU (8-4, 5-3 SEC) in the SBC Cotton Bowl on New Year's Day.
