Q&A: Derrick Johnson

On the tradition of the Texas A&M game:
TheA&M game is always special. I always look forward to it. The Aggies are a good team every year, and we are going to have to do the best we can if we want to beat those guys. We've been fortunate enough to beat them every year since I've been here and hopefully I can go out with a win.

On Texas A&M:
At the beginning of the year, A&M had a little struggle with Utah, but they got back on track. They've played good all the way through the season and gave Oklahoma a run for their money. The Aggies are a good team and they are going to try and come in here and look for a win.

On the awards he's been nominated for:
It's always nice to be honored, especially for the prestigious awards that I'm up for. I can't take all the credit. The guys around me have helped out a lot and so has the coaching staff. I have a lot of support. Any college player would like to win some awards and I'm in the hunt for a lot of awards and hopefully, I can get at least one.

On the week off:
The off-week is very important for a football team. It gives us a chance to be more mentally prepared for the next team and it is good rest for your body. This week we will rest up and we'll go harder next week.

On the BCS:
The BCS is something that you can't worry about. It's a system that is going to work regardless of whether you win or lose. Our part is to win.
