| 11/23/04 Gameweek Coaches' Corner: Co-Defensive Coordinator Greg Robinson
On it being the last regular season game:
I told the coaches, two days ago, that I hate the fact that this
is our last regular season game. We were just warming up.
On Texas A&M:
I'm impressed. They are talented and good schematically. Their quarterback
creates problems and the running backs are a nice one-two combination.
The wideouts are probably the best group we've faced this season.
They are deep and they put them all on the field. Their playbook
is very complete.
On the rivalry:
I like this. This is a good thing and I've enjoyed it. You have the
bye week as well, so you kind of get a feel for it. You can tell
that this is going to be good.
On keys to victory:
We have to try and make them one-dimensional. It isn't easy, but
you have to take away the running game and try and force them to
pass. They do have a nice passing game, which is really well designed.
It compliments their talent. Their offense switched gears from
last season and they really do it all now.
On Texas A&M
quarterback Reggie McNeal:
I think he is very poised in the pocket. He's real fast, we all know
that, but I wasn't expecting him to be as poised in the pocket
as he is. He took one play against Kansas State where he just split
their whole defense, so you know he's got speed going in. But,
he only runs when he sees it's wide open, but it isn't paramount
on his mind.
On Derrick Johnson wearing number 60:
I think it is really special because I know how he feels about it.
He sees it as a way to show respect. We all know that Derrick would
never do anything to draw attention to himself. His intent is to
do it for the right reasons and I think that is pretty neat and
we need more of it. |
