| 12/19/04 Run for the Roses: Vince Young
By: Kelley Robins, Media Relations Assistant
There's lots of talk about the Michigan offense, what have you seen
from the Michigan defense?
"They are physical. They don't try and disguise anything. Whatever
they are trying to do, if they are trying to blitz, you know they are
blitzing. If they are trying to sit back and play coverage or play
the run, you know what they are doing. They just try and get physical
with you and go nose to nose with you for four quarters."
How do you feel the Michigan defense will handle the challenge of
the Texas offense?
"They have two or three weeks. They are going to have more time
to break things down. I know they are going to try and throw some different
things at us that we didn't see in the film. We just have to be prepared
for it and keep moving the ball ahead of the chains."
Do you have any previous memories of the Rose Bowl?
"The only Rose Bowl memory I want to have is The University of
Texas coming out with a victory. Hopefully we can make that come true."
What are you looking forward to in the New Year?
"Another year of playing football without a major injury. I'm
looking forward to the fans and parents out to support us."
How important is this game for the team going into the next season
and as the end to this season?
"This means a lot to us because we didn't finish right last year.
Everyone was pretty upset, so it's important to finish on a good note
for this great season which we put together."
How excited is Vince Young?
"I am so excited. I'm going to have a rose in my mouth; I'm going
to have roses everywhere. I can't wait to get down there." |
