Does Texas have more to prove in this game than Michigan?
These are two powerhouse teams that are playing. Regardless of the situation of how we were chosen to play in this game, it is what it is. Cal is a very deserving team and we know what it feels like to be in their position. But, these are two great teams and it will be very interesting to see what happens. There is a lot on the line and both teams want to win this game bad.

Do you have any concerns about Michigan's offense?
They have a lot of weapons. We have to play our game. They can run the ball and pass the ball. Their running back may be a freshman, but he sure doesn't run like a freshman. He is very smooth. He is very physical and will come right after us. We definitely need to stop the run, because that's what they will try to establish first.

What does playing in the Rose Bowl mean to Texas?
I think it means a lot to both teams, especially to Michigan since they lost last year. I'm sure they are ready to get back at it. It means a lot to us since it is our first time and we have a lot to prove. I think both teams will be ready to play.

What is Texas trying to prove?
We've got to prove that we belong here. We want to push all the arguments aside about us deserving to play here. We did what we had.

What has Greg Robinson meant to the defense this season?
He's brought a lot of intensity. One big thing that we've done differently this year is running to the ball on every play. He doesn't accept us not getting to the ball and that has made a big difference on the field.

Will Matthews
Being a veteran, how do you help the younger guys deal with everything that goes into playing in bowl game?
This is a great bowl and there can be a lot of distractions, but we can't let all that stuff get to us. I just tell the younger guys to enjoy themselves, but remember why they are here, so they are ready to play on Saturday.

How do you get yourself ready to play after having so much time between the last game and the bowl game?
You have to be able to go from your relaxing mode to your practice/game mode. You have to be able to switch it on because when you are on the field, you are there to work. Things like going to Disneyland are fun, but we have practice tomorrow.

How has practice been going?
We are playing a great team in Michigan for the first time and we get to play in the Rose Bowl for the first time, so it is easy to get up for practice. We are definitely psyched. There has been a lot of talk about whether or not we should be here, so we are just taking that as motivation to play harder. We are going to put it out on the field and you can see that during practice.
