Played in all 13 games and started three at middle linebacker (following an injury to Garnet Smith) ... earned one of UT's Whatever It Takes (W.I.T.) Awards ... registered 38 tackles (22 solo), four TFL, six QB pressures, a forced fumble and four blocked kicks ... the four blocked kicks (three FGs/one PAT) tied the UT single-season record with Shane Dronett (1991) and the UT career record with Dronett and former teammate Marcus Tubbs ... helped UT rank 25th nationally in total defense (439.2 ypg) and allow just 21.5 points per game ... notched six tackles, one TFL and a QB pressure in the season opener against New Mexico State and blocked his first field goal ... recorded a career-high nine tackles and a TFL against Rice... recorded five tackles and a QB pressure against both Arkansas and No. 16 Kansas State ... forced a fumble against Arkansas ... blocked his second field goal of the season at Iowa State ... recorded seven tackles, two pressures and a PBU at Baylor ... blocked his third field goal versus No. 12 Nebraska ... made his record-tying block of an extra point versus Texas Tech ... that block came with just over nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to preserve a 35-34 lead for Texas ... redshirted in 2002.

Earned All-Big 12 honors with a sixth-place finish in the discus at the 2003 Big 12 Outdoor Championships ... posted a season-best 183-7 at that meet ... also finished 10th in the shot put with a season-best 55-11 effort at the conference meet ... won back-to-back shot put titles at the A&M Invitational (51-3) and Longhorn Invitational (51-11 1/4) ... also claimed top honors in the discus (151-0) at the Longhorn Invitational ... was fourth in the shot put (55-8 1/4) and discus (165-1) at the Penn Relays ... posted season bests of 51-2 1/4 in the shot put and 45-11 1/4 in the 35-pound weight throw during the indoor season.
