Hey Longhorn fans,
Today was our fourth day in California and we're all getting excited that the National Championship is only three days away. We started the morning off with our position meetings. Today was the defensive press conference so some of the guys left to go to that while the rest of us finished our meetings and headed to practice.
Today's practice was really good. Right now we're really fine tuning everything that we're doing for the game. It's a whole lot of fun because we're only a few days away. We don't have to wait much longer. As a senior, to get this chance to go out in a big way like this, we're all just really excited.
After practice, we had a little bit of free time. Some of the guys went to In N Out Burger, some went shopping and some people just took the time to rest before we headed back into our offensive and defensive meetings where we watched practice and went over some more game plans.
Tonight's activity was the Beef Bowl put on by Lawry's. The event was set up in a big tent right on the beach and we got to walk in on the red carpet. The food catered by Lawry's was really good. They had massive prime rib steaks that they served along with mashed potatoes, creamed corn and apple pie. It was a delicious meal and we got to see our 2009 highlight video which got us all pumped up.
The entertainment for the event was a magician who went table to table doing magic tricks for us while we were eating and then did a few big tricks on the stage. He brought Colt McCoy and Emmanuel Acho up on the stage as part of his audience participation, which was pretty entertaining to watch as well. It was just a really great way to spend time with all of our teammates. Everyone had a blast.
Tomorrow is our final day of practice before the game, so now I'm off to get some rest and continue to enjoy this great opportunity that we have here in California.
