Texas Ranked No. 15 in AP Preseason Poll

AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Texas is ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press Preseason Poll, which was released Saturday. The Longhorns, who welcome back 16 offensive and defensive starters from last year's 8-5 squad, are ranked among the top 15 in the AP preseason poll for the 12th time in the last 13 seasons. Texas is one of six Big 12 Conference teams represented in the preseason poll. Oklahoma was picked fourth and West Virginia No. 11. Oklahoma State (No. 19), TCU (No. 20), and Kansas State (No. 22) were the remaining league teams in the poll. USC was voted No. 1, Alabama second and LSU third. Texas, which is in the midst of preseason camp, opens the 2012 season in just two weeks. The Longhorns play host to Wyoming on Saturday, Sept. 1. The Cowboys are coming off an 8-5 season, which included a trip to the Gildan New Mexico Bowl. Click here for ticket information.
