Williams to preview New Mexico game on Longhorn Network

Aug. 29, 2012

AUSTIN, Texas -- Former Texas running back and Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams will join Longhorn Network as a guest analyst for Football's game against New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. CT.

Williams will appear alongside LHN's Lowell Galindo and Ahmad Brooks, former defensive player for the Longhorns, during LHN's Texas GameDay and Texas GameDay Final programs. The 24/7 University of Texas channel will exclusively televise the matchup live in HD from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Also this fall, Kaylee Hartung join LHN's Galindo and Kevin Dunn to complete the on-air team as a reporter/anchor at events and for studio shows. She replaces LHN's Samantha Steele, who recently joined ESPN's College GameDay program and the Thursday Night Primetime team. Hartung was previously a sideline reporter for CBS Sports Network and a correspondent for CBS News.

ESPN football analyst and former Buffalo Bills linebacker Ray Bentley and ESPN play-by-play announcer Mark Neely will call the action for the network as the Longhorns take on Wyoming (Sept. 1) and New Mexico (Sept. 8).

Old 97's Recording for LHN
The Old 97's took a break from their current tour to stop in Austin and shoot a new open for LHN's Texas GameDay. The band, formed 20 years ago in Dallas, recorded a version of their song "State of Texas" that will be unveiled on the premiere of Texas GameDay this Saturday, Sept. 1 at 5 p.m. Members of several Texas spirit groups also participated in the shoot, which will be utilized on Texas GameDay all season long.
