Longhorns junior offensive tackle Adam Ulatoski is taking on two new roles in 2008. With last year's starter Tony Hills in the NFL, he's now the team's starting left tackle and responsible for protecting quarterback Colt McCoy's blind side. He's also accepted the challenge of serving as the Longhorns insider, giving his insights throughout the 2008 season.

Hey Longhorn Fans,

It has been a great four weeks. The attitude of our team is such an enormous asset. Every practice, we set out to get better. We are focusing on all the little things that we need to do to be successful. We are excited about Big 12 play getting started. The Buffs are going to be a great challenge for us. They don't do a lot up front, but like most teams that don't do a lot, they are good at what they do. This team loves to travel. We feed off the hostile atmosphere.

The offensive line is coming along. We are such a tight-knit group of guys, and because of that, we push one another through competition. We feel like we have done some nice things in the past few games, but there is so much more that we can do to get better. Coach McWhorter has been coaching us hard and we are taking what he says to heart. The best attribute of this offensive line is that we listen to coaching and don't get satisfied. We are determined to consistently get better.

One of our great leaders on the team and one of our reigning Boss Hogs from the past week is Charlie Tanner. Charlie has a plethora of nicknames. They range from the simple "Chuck" and "Chuck T" to the more creative side of "The Governor." He got this name from when he was a freshman. We would always see him on campus shaking people's hands and introducing himself to people. We asked him if he was trying to get votes and the name stuck. That is just Charlie's extroverted personality. That is also part of what makes him a great leader for this team. He can relate to everyone and he is someone that will step up and say things when they need to be said. On the field, Charlie will get after you. He is one of the strongest guys on the team and uses that whenever he plays.

I hope y'all are as excited about this game as we are. We have been practicing hard all week to start the Big 12 season right. The atmosphere is going to be a great experience for us and we are looking forward to getting this thing started. This is where championships begin.
