Texas Exes to pilot flyover before UCF game

Nov. 3, 2009

Pregame for Veterans Recognition Day at the Texas-UCF game will include a flyover by the 560th Flying Training Squadron, and two of the pilots - Major Cory "Ogre" Christoffer and Major Kyle "Squeak" Goldstein - flying T-38's are 1998 University of Texas graduates.

The two became friends while going through The University's Air Force ROTC program. Goldstein is a third generation Longhorn. His grandfather, Captain Melvin Holman, played basketball and baseball at Texas, and was a casualty in World War II when his plane was shot down. Goldstein has served in Iraq, and Christoffer served in Afghanistan. Christoffer grew up in Minnesota and Illinois, but in the fourth grade wrote that he wanted to grow up to be a quarterback for The University of Texas.

The four T-38s will be traveling at speeds around 400 miles per hour.
